Closed circuit televisions are widely used in large houses and mansions, apartments, shops and malls, apart from other commercial establishments like hotels, hospitals, etc. CCTV monitoring is one of the best options of controlling theft or other problems like vandalism in crowded places. The installation of CCTV systems discourages and deters people from indulging in burglary, shoplifting, eve teasing and other unlawful activities.

CCTV systems are of two types. The first type is one that is monitored on a 24x7 basis by people working in shifts. The second type records all activities in the complex or the property in which it is installed. At regular periods, the recordings are played back to observe the happenings and detect anything unwanted.
